Here at Lake Kushaqua there are plenty of people from Malone. This lake is so wonderful. Get drenched paddling on Salmon River; from Lake Kushaqua you obtain a good panorama of Buck Pond Hill. If you came to camp Donaldson George A and Sons is a splendid place to do that, and you'll come across a striking lake called Buck Pond. If you fancy the outdoors, you'll go for Lake Kushaqua. On a good day at Lake Kushaqua you can take a hike along the McKenzie

| | Pond Trail; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Mount Pisgah is rather near. Through the warm days of summer, highs regularly are in the 70's at Lake Kushaqua. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Lake Kushaqua. is a splendid local ski area. And if that's not enough there's a lot more exciting stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Lake Kushaqua is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Pioneer Village is a fine local campground,
and if you need a place to stay Woodlake Inn is a great choice. Now, you may believe that's loads but there's even more fun things to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. Do check out Club Pond close to Lake Kushaqua, it's a stunning
lake, and the Schwartz Trail is a wonderful hiking trail nearby. A large amount of rain falls at Lake Kushaqua; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; February is when it's the driest. This lake is located in
the wonderful Adirondack Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on Saranac River - North Branch, and dry warm beds await you at THE HOTEL SARANAC.

Silver Lake Mountain Trail

Silver lake mountain trail head is found on Silver lake Road, which intersects with NY Route 3 about 23 miles west of Plattsburgh [near Clayburg]. Go south on Silver Lake Road for about 10 miles, find the marked trailhead on the left side of the road. This is a short somewhat steep hike with a beautiful view from the top. Well worth the effort....Silver Lake Mt. is a glorious hike. Its not too difficult for the amateur hikers and has a few trails off to the side that are a bit more difficult and fun for the experienced hikers. Its a great place for a family or business day retreat and provides phenomenal views of the North Countries natural beauty. Enjoy the trail but remember to keep it clean and well maintained.
