This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. Yeah, come up here to the Adirondack Mountains for a pleasant time. A splendid close by hotel is Rodeway Inn Palatine Bridge; nearby you hit upon the California Trail which is a good hiking trail. That right there is a lot already, but it continues; Knapps Long Lake has it all. Going for a hike on the Hamilton Mountain       Fire Tower Trail is always a good adventure, and there's whitewater on Sprite Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers. Knapps Long Lake gets much water; throughout August this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Pine Lake Campground and RV Park is a brilliant site to camp; Knapps Long Lake is not far at all from Amsterdam. All through the                  summer highs here at Knapps Long Lake reach the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while Knapps Long Lake night low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. Crystal Grove Diamond Mine is a perfect campground nearby; there are some wonderful whitewater spots on East Canada Creek. After a long day outdoors Knights Inn Little Falls is a great spot to spend a night or two, and do explore Conglin Lakes, it's a wonderful lake. Be careful coming to the Adirondack Mountains, you might not ever wanna return back home again.
