have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Moose River - South Branch. Kings Pond commonly gets lots of rain; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February. This
lake is so wonderful. You'll stumble on a striking lake called Whitney Lake near Kings Pond, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Northville Lake Placid Trail. So many cool things in the Adirondack Mountains, just
fantastic. Stay the night at Tioga Point State Campground, and going for a hike along the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. The vista of Cobble Hill from Kings Pond is pretty.
You'll need more than a day to discover everything Kings Pond has to offer, you can camp at Browns Tract Pond State Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Sucker Brook Trail is good fun; a journey to close by Pillsbury Bay is very relaxing.

Northville Lake Placid Trail
 | 18 miles away Not sure where Plumley's Point is but I hiked the Northville Lake Placid trail about 4 or 5 miles north from Long Lake village and it was fairly well maintained (just a little overgrowth).
