     You'll meet a lot of folks from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown here, and one of the major marks of the surroundings of Kensico Reservoir is Kennelwood Hill. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Cranberry Lakes is near Kensico Reservoir, and Kensico Reservoir is a great location to visit for more than one day, Camp Echo Lake is a great location to camp nearby. If you need a place to stay Residence Inn White Plains Westchester County is a brilliant  
   choice, and the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a good hiking trail nearby. A nice close by hotel is AKA White Plains, and there's always Kensico Dam to check out next to Kensico Reservoir.
This lake is so wonderful. This is a splendid neighborhood for folks who like lakes. Quarry Lakes is a lake in the vicinity, and a trip to close by Woodmans Cove is very relaxing. Kensico Reservoir is a quite wet place regularly with a good deal of rainfall; the
 
               month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; January meanwhile is the driest month.
For the period of the warm days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Kensico Reservoir; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 30's, and overnight lows through the wintertime for Kensico Reservoir tend to be in the 10's. What a spot this is for outdoors folks. Pleasantville Country Club is a great golf course close by. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Kensico Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Soundview Sports.

Do you have any pictures of camp henry?  My father went there in the 1920's.  The land was sold a while ago and now has a housing development on it....Lillian Wald had a camp on secor lake .Camp Henry.i am fortune enough to have been born on the block where Lillian started the henry street settlement. I am a 49yr who spent 10 summers of my life on lake secor 67-76..Actually I live in the settlement for 3 1/2 yrs. Amazing!...

KISSENA LAKE IS ONE BEAUTIFUL BODY OF WATER!! AND TO THINK, ITS IN NYC IN QUEENS COUNTY. THE SURROUNDING PARK IS GREAT ALSO!! SO MUCH TO DO HERE. THE LAKE IS PRETTY COOL, HAS LARGEMOUTH BASS, SUNFISH. ALTHOUGH THE FISH DONT BITE ALL DAY, THEY EAT AT DIFFERENT TIMES MAKING IT PERFECT TO TRY TO GET YOUNGSTERS HOOKED ON FISHING. ...ridge rd.back in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..and a cool as heck dirt road.....
