    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Kensico Lake. Summer at Kensico Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Kensico Lake tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Playing golf is lots of fun at Pleasantville Country Club. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to  
   stay Residence Inn By Marriott Westchester is a good choice, and an exciting thing to explore in the vicinity of Kensico Lake is American Can Company Dam.
This is no location for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. While you're here at Kensico Lake you should visit Big Peninsula, and dry warm beds await you at Wellesley Inn Armonk. Kensico Lake is a wet place that gets a good deal of rain; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of
 
               the months is January. You can catch a sight of Cooney Hill from Kensico Lake. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Kensico Lake has to offer, you can camp at Soundview Sports.
There's so much to do here at Kensico Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Echo Lake is a perfect location for that, and there are plenty of folks from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown here. Near Kensico Lake you hit upon the Appalachian National Scenic Trail which is a fine hiking trail, and Kensico Lake is not the only location nearby, Tercia Pond is a nearby lake. A lake close by is Whippoorwill Lake; some of the water close by flows, like Bear Gutter Creek.

I am a 49yr who spent 10 summers of my life on lake secor 67-76..Actually I live in the settlement for 3 1/2 yrs. Amazing!...

Lounsbury Pond is in Blue Mountain Reservation and not really that close to the Appalachian Trail or Beaver Pond. Sterling Forest is about 45 minutes away. You cannot camp at Blue Mountain Reservation. Stillwater Lake is in Putnam County and the trail near it is unmarked and not named....

...back in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..and a cool as heck dirt road..I went to...
