Why not stop at close by Sand Spring Brook since you're here at Jordan Pond; a lake nearby is Duck Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Wiccopee Pass is a great location to discover, and dry warm beds await you at Hilton Garden Inn Poughkeepsie/Fishkill. For the period of the warm days of summer highs here at Jordan Pond reach the 70's while overnight lows are typically in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Jordan Pond.

FISHKILL is a glorious choice, and nearby you discover the Appalachian National Scenic Trail which is a nice hiking trail.
The high level of rainfall makes Jordan Pond a relatively wet place; the month of May is the wettest with
most of the rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. There's whitewater on Wappinger Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Jordan Pond has to offer, you can camp at
Camp Discovery. Weise Pond is a nearby lake that you could visit; an afternoon playing golf at The Garrison Golf Club is always a delight.

The land was sold a while ago and now has a housing development on it....Lillian Wald had a camp on secor lake .Camp Henry.i am fortune enough to have been born on the block where Lillian started the henry street settlement. | ...t ridge rd.back in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..and a cool as heck dirt road... |
