Going for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and there are other spots here than Jones Pond, for example Bear Swamp. This lake is so wonderful. Get dripping wet paddling on Ten Mile River, and this is a popular spot for folks from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown.       A tremendous nearby hotel is Inn at Arbor Ridge and Cnf Ctr, and Thunder Ridge is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area next to Jones Pond has to offer. Lakes? Sure, Pell Lake is close at hand, and if you need a place to stay Le Chambord is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Clarence Fahnestock State Park. Throughout the long summer days here                  at Jones Pond, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Jones Pond. Paddling on Tenmile is so much fun, and playing golf is lots of fun at Dutcher Golf Course.
