John Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. At John Pond through the summertime months highs are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at John Pond. The peak of Hosner Mountain can be seen from John Pond; going for a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is always a splendid adventure. Camping is available

This lake is so wonderful. The great people of Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown like to hang out close by. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Le Chambord is a great place
to spend a night or two, and golf can be played at Branton Woods Golf Club. If you come at the right time of year, Popolopen Creek offers some great whitewater, and a fine location to camp here at John Pond is Sylvan Lake Beach Park.
