If you are in Warren county it's always a good idea to stop by Island Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Mayfair Resort Motel is a great spot to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Island Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Scenic View Campground is a fine place for that. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by West Mountain; there's great hiking along the Treadway Mountain Trail.

| | at Island Pond through the warmest time of the year are in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. During the wintertime highs are generally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Island Pond. If you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Schroon River, and you can stay the night at Hidden Pond Campsite. Just can't get enough of
the Adirondack Mountains. Don't leave Island Pond without first going for a hike along the Spectacle Pond Trail, and if you're here, you could also take a look at gorgeous Bennett Pond. And that's not all there is to do here in the
Adirondack Mountains. Wolf Pond Brook is in the neighborhood of Island Pond and is always a pleasure to take a look at, and you can go for a hike on the Pharoah Mountain Trail.
Island Pond gets a common amount of annual rain;
most of the rain falls throughout August, and the driest month is January. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains.
