West Mountain is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood, and you can stay the night at Hidden Pond Campsite. Dry warm beds await you at Blue Lagoon on Lake Georg. Lakes are pleasant; Bennett Pond is a lake that's near Island Pond. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting things the Adirondack Mountains has to offer. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Island       Pond; Pharoah Mountain Trail is a wonderful local trail, and get dripping wet paddling on Schroon River. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. High temperatures at Island Pond all through the long summer days are in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Island Pond are in the 0's. Island Pond is right by the Treadway                  Mountain Trail, and after a long day outdoors The Sagamore is a good place to spend a night or two. Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! The Adirondack Mountains is great! Paddling on Schroon River is so much fun; why not head up to Gore Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Island Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Point O' Pines is a nice site for that, and you're sure to stumble upon some smiling people from Glens Falls here. Take a little journey to Wolf Pond Brook if you're here at Island Pond. From a precipitation point of view Island Pond is a relatively normal location; August is when you get the most rain here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You clearly should fancy Island Pond.
