Island Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Seaport Campground is a great local campground, and a great nearby hotel is Econo Lodge Mystic. The Narragansett Trail offers hiking at its best, and if you want to hit the beach, Isabella Beach is close by. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Island Pond, you could also have       a look at beautiful Barlow Pond; a great place to camp here at Island Pond is Highland Orchards Resort Park. The high level of rain makes Island Pond a reasonably wet site; all through November this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. You'll hit upon a charming lake called Beach Pond near Island Pond, and while you're here and you like golf, you can go to Birch Plain Golf Course & Driving Range. And if that's not sufficient,                  there's a load more to do in the vicinity of Island Pond. You'll meet a lot of folks from Norwich-New London here, and on a perfect day it's a great idea to spend the day at Chocomount Beach. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Island Pond, do take a tour to Brooks Point; Middle Clump is another great site to stop by close by. Through the warm months, highs usually are in the 80's at Island Pond. During the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's.
