Go to Island Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Island Lake, for example Anona Lake, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Sterling Forest is relatively near. From Island Lake you obtain a great view of Spook Rock; Mt. Peter is a fine local ski area. You simply must have a thing about Island Lake. A splendid close by hotel is Howard Johnson Inn.

You can run the rapids of Popolopen Creek near Island Lake, and if the weather is brilliant, you can go for a hike along the Suffern-Bear Mountain Trail. Get your pulse rate up on the glorious whitewater of Ramapo River. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Island Lake has to offer, you can camp at National Camp Assn.

Lake. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Island Lake are in the 10's. Lakes are such serene places, why not check out Camp
Hlond Reservoir next to Island Lake; while here here do stop at close by Old Sebago Beach. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff to do are beyond doubt bountiful here at Island Lake. While you're here at Island Lake you can take a hike
along the Conklins Crossing, and Island Lake is a wonderful location to visit for more than one day, Baker Camp On Lake Sebago is a wonderful location to camp nearby.
Have a delightful hiking adventure along the Sherwood Path,
and after a long day outdoors Courtyard Montvale is a brilliant place to spend a night or two. The high level of rain makes Island Lake a reasonably wet spot; May is the month that gets the most rain; February is when it's the driest.
