Going for a hike on the Suffern-Bear Mountain Trail is always a wonderful adventure; Pine Brook is one of the streams close by that might be worth taking a look at. For the duration of the summertime at Island Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; overnight lows in the 10's for Island       Lake. The high level of rainfall makes Island Lake a reasonably wet spot; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is February. You can never get enough of the glorious skiing at Sterling Forest, and camping is available at National Camp Assn. If you need a location to stay Howard Johnson Inn is a pleasant choice; a wonderful spot for whitewater paddling is Popolopen Creek. Courtyard Montvale is a good place to get                  some rest, and get your heart pumping on the nice whitewater of Ramapo River. Anona Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to, and a glorious spot to camp here at Island Lake is Baker Camp On Lake Sebago. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! Island Lake is peerless! There is a magnificent hiking trail near Island Lake called the Sherwood Path, and one of the best things about this site is its proximity to Old Sebago Beach. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Island Lake, you could also stop by close by Monsey Lake, and the summit of Spook Rock can be observed from Island Lake. All the outdoors cool things near Island Lake will keep you coming back repeatedly. Really nice skiing awaits you at Mt. Peter. This lake is so wonderful.
