Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Ida Lake. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's with temperatures at Ida Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Ida Lake gets a common amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is June while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.       There's so much to do here at Ida Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Dingman's Campgrounds is a glorious spot for that, and if you're visiting from Albany-Schenectady-Troy, you won't be the only one. Whitewater paddling is splendid on Poesten Kill River, and Troy Lock is an exciting thing to check out. This lake is so wonderful. A fine nearby hotel is Residence Inn by Marriott Albany East Greenbush Tech Valley; lakes are such calm places, why not                  visit Menands Reservoir. If you came to camp Deer Run Camp Grounds is a good location to do that; Littles Lake is a tremendous lake close by. The skiing at Hickory Ski Center is glorious. And that's not all you can do here at Ida Lake.
