Hunter Lake is always a pleasure to visit. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Lost Cabin Trail. Birch Ridge Pond is a good lake close to Hunter Lake, and while you're here you can play some golf at Island Glen Country Club. Lots of rainfall falls at Hunter Lake; the month with most of the rain is August; the driest month of the year is February.
Don't leave Hunter Lake without first going for a hike along the Steam Mill Trail;

| | why not take a little tour to Birch Ridge Brook since you're here. Yep, outdoors fun stuff to do are truly abundant here at Hunter Lake. After a long day outdoors Relax Inn is a great spot to spend a night or two, and you can go for a hike on the Schiff Trail. All through the summertime months at Hunter Lake temperatures are mostly in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Villa Roma Resort Lodges, and Woodstock On The Lake Campgrounds is a great campground here. Delaware River is a glorious whitewater
spot near Hunter Lake, and Holiday Mountain has brilliant slopes and a friendly staff. If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Callicoon Creek - East Branch, and Hunter Lake is a great place to camp, Swan Lake Camplands is a great place.
