A short journey to Pelkys Falls is always worthwhile, and a swamp like Big Swamp close to Horseshoe Pond has lots of exciting things to see. This lake is so wonderful. At Horseshoe Pond you can catch a glimpse of Barbour Hill; there are some splendid whitewater spots on Grass River - Middle Branch. Alder Brook is a tremendous local stream, and camping is available at Robinson's Iga. You'll meet       a lot of people from Ogdensburg-Massena here; if you're here, you could also go to striking Bullhead Pond. A good close by hotel is Comfort Suites Canton, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Grass River - North Branch. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western University Inn is a splendid place to spend a night or two. The annual rainfall here at Horseshoe Pond is about average; the month with most of the rain is August while February                  is regularly the driest month. Throughout the long summer days highs here at Horseshoe Pond get into the 70's while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's while Horseshoe Pond night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 0's. Be careful coming to Horseshoe Pond, you might not ever want to return back home again.
