The annual rainfall here at Horseshoe Pond is about average; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here; the driest month of the year is February. Clear Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out, and why not take a little visit to Alder Brook since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Put some time aside to spend at Pelkys Falls while you're here at Horseshoe Pond; do take a hike on the Post       Henderson Trail. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Grass River - Middle Branch. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Horseshoe Pond has to offer, you can camp at Higley Flow State Park. What a place this is for outdoors folks. If you come at the right time of year, Grass River - North Branch offers some perfect whitewater; Best Western University Inn is a wonderful site to get some rest. This lake                  is so wonderful. If you get bored of Horseshoe Pond, you could also stop at close by Shingle Pond. There's so much to do here at Horseshoe Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Robinson's Iga is a pleasant location for that. All through the days of summer at Horseshoe Pond highs are usually in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's while Horseshoe Pond night low temperatures all through the winter are in the 0's. A nice nearby hotel is Comfort Suites Canton, and if you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Ogdensburg-Massena.
