If you are in Herkimer county it's always a good idea to stop by Horseshoe Pond. Through the long summer days, highs regularly are in the 70's at Horseshoe Pond. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 20's, and overnight lows at Horseshoe Pond through the wintertime mostly fall into the 0's. If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Moose River - South Branch, and why not camp at

Golf Club. These mountains rock, just check out all the exciting things to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Black River - South Branch has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot close by, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself
at Limekiln Falls. And that's not all you can do here at Horseshoe Pond. A day on the slopes of McCauley Mountain is just what you need, and do take a hike on the Salmon Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The Twin Lakes Trail
offers hiking at its best; Horseshoe Pond is not the only location nearby, Cliff Pond is a nearby lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Best Western Little Falls Motor Inn is a fine choice, and Horseshoe Pond
is right by the Norridge Trail. The high level of precipitation makes Horseshoe Pond a relatively wet spot; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is the month with the least moisture.
