Horseshoe Pond is a lake worth visiting. Horseshoe Pond is a wet place that gets a good deal of rain; the wettest month of the year is regularly August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is February. You clearly have to go for Horseshoe Pond. In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Black River - South Branch, and why not head up to McCauley Mountain and strap some skis to your feet.

a view of Burnt Mountain from Horseshoe Pond; after a long day outdoors Knights Inn Little Falls is a good place to spend a night or two. So many exciting things to do in the Adirondack Mountains, not enough time. There are great
spots to look at along the Twin Lakes Trail, and an afternoon playing golf at Thendara Golf Club is always a joy. Don't leave Horseshoe Pond without first going for a hike along the Norridge Trail; a good location to camp here
at Horseshoe Pond is OLD Forge Camping Resort. This site, the Adirondack Mountains, has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. There's delightful hiking along the Salmon Lake Trail, and Moose River - South Branch is a magnificent whitewater spot nearby.
