Horseshoe Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Horseshoe Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while February is generally the driest month. The slopes of Holiday Mountain are so inviting nobody can resist; you can go for a hike on the Peenpack Trail. Dry warm beds await you at Golden Swan Motel; going for a hike on the Schiff Trail is always a tremendous adventure.

All through the months of summer at Horseshoe Lake temperatures are usually in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Callicoon Creek - East Branch in the vicinity of Horseshoe Lake, and don't leave Horseshoe Lake without first going
for a hike along the Lost Cabin Trail. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Golf can be played at Swan Lake Golf & Country Club, and get your heart pumping on the magnificent whitewater of Callicoon Creek - North Branch.
Do check out Bishops Pond close to Horseshoe Lake, it's a lovely lake. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Horseshoe Lake has to offer, you can camp at Swan Lake Camplands.
