    If you are in Sullivan county it's always a good idea to stop by Horseshoe Lake. Holiday Mountain has great slopes and a friendly staff, and dry warm beds await you at Howard Johnson Inn Liberty NY. There's so much to do here at Horseshoe Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Chipinaw Camp Chipinaw is a wonderful place for that. Lakes? Sure, Bishops Pond is around here. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Callicoon Creek - North Branch is so much fun;
   Horseshoe Lake is right by the Schiff Trail.
For the period of the summer, highs typically are in the 70's at Horseshoe Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while Horseshoe Lake night low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's. Have a fine hiking adventure along the Lost Cabin Trail, and get covered with water paddling on Callicoon Creek - East Branch. There are other

               places here than Horseshoe Lake, for example Silver Lake, and you can stay the night at Swan Lake Camplands.
This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Days Inn Of Liberty is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. Horseshoe Lake is a wet place that gets a large amount of rainfall; through August this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Horseshoe Lake. Take a hike on the Peenpack Trail, and playing golf is lots of fun at Swan Lake Golf & Country Club.

I was born in Margaretville on May 16, 1938 and as far back as I can remember, my dad, Bryan Burgin would take me fishing at this lake numerous times during the summers - The last time I was there would have been the summer of 1955 - I have a copy of the book ''Alder Lake'' by Joshua Gerow - that the Fuelane Company gave to dad in 1960 and was passed down to me - looking at the pictures of the lake and the large stone house brought tears to my eyes - thank you for being on the web and returning me if only in my mind to a very beautiful past -

Sincerely,
Bob Burgin ...
