Stay the night at Bomoseen State Park Campground, and going for a hike on the Glen Lake Trail is always a splendid adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Do have a look at Crystal Lake near Hills Pond, it's a stunning lake. Best Western Ticonderoga Inn & Suites is a great location to get some rest, and you can run the rapids of Mettawee River. | | 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows all through the winter for Hills Pond tend to be in the 0's. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Hills Pond has to offer, you can camp at Camp Catherine Capers, and if you're here, you could also take a look at scenic Melvin Pond. From Hills Pond you get a glorious vista of Morris Hill; Poultney River is a good whitewater spot nearby. The yearly rainfall here at Hills Pond is about average; the month with most of the rain is August while February is usually the driest month.

If only every location had this much outdoor entertaining stuff, what a great planet it would be. A tremendous place like Half Moon Pond State Park is near Country Village Campground and is too wonderful to leave out, and going for a hike on the Falls of Lana Trail is always a perfect adventure. All through the warm days of summer at Country Village Campground highs are mostly in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the 0's. When the weather is good here at Country Village Campground, you can go for a hike along the Chandler Ridge Trail, and the friendly people of Brandon like to hang out nearby. The Duval Trail is a delightful hiking trail next to Country Village Campground, and a day on Pico Mountain is just what you need.

Rocky Pond
 | 19 miles away 4 PHOTOS Easy going trail from Mt Tabor to Rocky Pond, a 4 mile round trip, 1 1/2 to 2 hour hike. The hike is well worth seeing this breath taking pond. Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go.
