Dry warm beds await you at Eldred Preserve Resort; on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Peenpack Trail. Delaware National Scenic River is a great national park; camping at Highland Lake is good fun, Kittatinny Campgrounds is a good local campground. If you need a place to stay Nolan's River Inn Motel is a nice choice, and going for a hike along the Schiff       Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. High temperatures at Highland Lake all through the days of summer are in the 70's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. All through the winter the highs are typically in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Highland Lake are in the 10's. Highland Lake gets a normal amount of annual rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is February. This                  lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Tanglwood. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Highland Lake. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Delaware River, and if the weather is glorious, you can go for a hike along the Lost Cabin Trail. If you come at the right time of year, Mongaup River offers some brilliant whitewater; if you get bored of Highland Lake you could also pop by close by Beaver Pond.
