Dry warm beds await you at Rockville Centre Inn, and Schodack Pond is a pleasant lake nearby. Hempstead Lake is a relatively wet place commonly with lots of rain; the month with most of the rain is November, and the driest of the months is February. After a long day outdoors Best Western Mill River Manor is a tremendous place to spend a night or two, and folks from New York-Newark-Edison love to come here.       The warmest time of the year at Hempstead Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are mostly in the 30's with temperatures at Hempstead Lake dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Do pay a visit to Gateway National Recreation Area while you're here at Hempstead Lake, and you can hit the beach if you want, Long Beach is practically right                  here. So many amusing things next to Hempstead Lake, simply fantastic. Middle Bay Country Club is a pleasant golf course close by.
