Good hiking is available along the Phoenicia Trail; you'll find a stunning lake called Dolans Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Catskill Mountains. What a site this is for outdoors people. All year is a tremendous time in the Catskill Mountains if you go for the outdoors. Get drenched paddling on Ten Mile Creek, and why not camp at Torchlight Campsites if you're here at Lake Heloise. The slopes of Windham Mountain are       so inviting nobody can resist; whitewater paddling is great on Catskill Creek. During the warm months at Lake Heloise temperatures are mostly in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. Through the winter highs are commonly in the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Lake Heloise dip into the 0's. Camping is available at Doherty's Mountain Campground; the sight of Ginseng Mountain is beautiful.                  This lake is so wonderful. There are splendid places to explore along the Spruceton Trail; Hotel Vienna is a great spot to get some rest. Don't leave Lake Heloise without first going for a hike along the Willow Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Winwood Inn. So many exciting things to do here in the Catskill Mountains, too perfect to be true. Near Lake Heloise you hit upon Barlow Notch which is a nice place to have a look at, and a scenic lake like Silver Lake is a glorious place to go to. A typical amount of precipitation falls here at Lake Heloise; all through May this area sees the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff near Lake Heloise. Gotta ski! Hunter Mountain is a pleasant place to do that; an afternoon playing golf at Windham Country Club is always a pleasure.   Hotel Vienna, Windham 2 miles away Windham is set high in the Catskill Mountains.
