Beaver Brook is a good local stream, and at Helms Pond you can distinguish Little Blue Mountain. All the water falling down from the sky makes Helms Pond a wet location; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Buttermilk Falls; do schedule some time to explore Bluff       Point if you have a chance. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful. There are other spots here than Helms Pond, for example Eagle Lake, and in case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cedar River. Man, is there a lot of amusing stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Near Helms Pond you come across the Northville Lake Placid Trail which is a delightful hiking trail; Raquette River is a magnificent whitewater                  spot close by. Through the warmest time of the year at Helms Pond highs are ordinarily in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Helms Pond. You simply must have a thing about the Adirondack Mountains. Chub Pond is a tremendous lake in close proximity to Helms Pond, and what would a spot like Helms Pond be without interesting close by marks like Castle Rock. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Sucker Brook Trail is always a perfect adventure, and Helms Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Long Lake Camp is a great local campground.
