Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Peters Kill River; if you're visiting from Kingston, you won't be the only one. Much precipitation falls at Heddens Lake; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. Shawangunk Mountains is clearly visible from Heddens Lake, and if you came to camp Yogi Bear's       Jellystone Park At Lazy River is a brilliant spot to do that. Summertime highs at Heddens Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. All through the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Heddens Lake. Having a great time at Heddens Lake is trouble-free. On a magnificent day at Heddens Lake you can take a hike along the Comfort Trail; if you need a location to stay Lexington                  at Hudson Valley Resort is a wonderful choice. The Shawangunk Mountains here at Heddens Lake makes the scenery here good. There's so much to do here at Heddens Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lazy River Campground is a great place for that. Don't forget to take a wonderful little trip to Mara Kill, and Mohonk Mountain House is a tremendous place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Near Heddens Lake you find the Vernooy Falls Trail which is a great hiking trail; there are other locations here than Heddens Lake, for example Lake Minnewaska. There is a splendid hiking trail near Heddens Lake called the Kanape Jeep Trail; lakes are such peaceful places, why not go to Tillson Lake.
