There's so much to do here at Heart Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Whispering Pines Campground is a delightful spot for that; float down the rapids of Ausable River - West Branch in a kayak. Be careful coming to Heart Lake, you might not ever wanna go home again. Lakes are such serene spots, why not stop at Avalanche Lake close       to Heart Lake. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! The Adirondack Mountains is so good! Dry warm beds await you at Courtyard Lake Placid; at Heart Lake you can spot Mount Jo. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Whiteface Mountain since you're here, and if you come at the right time of year, Ausable River - West Branch offers some nice whitewater. Skiing at Mount Pisgah is one of those things you just ought                  to do, and Craig Wood Golf & Country Club is a tremendous golf course nearby. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Heart Lake. If you need a site to stay Econo Lodge Lake Placid is a perfect choice, and the Indian Pass Trail is a pleasant hiking trail close by. From a rainfall point of view Heart Lake is a pretty typical site; throughout August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. If you came to camp Adirondak Loj is a pleasant site to do that, and naturally Indian Pass Brook is a wonderful stream that is worth visiting. All through the summertime months highs here at Heart Lake get into the 70's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Heart Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful lake like Lake Colden near Heart Lake is a splendid spot to go to, and going for a hike on the Hopkins Trail is always a delightful adventure.
