If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kortright Creek, and Hartwick Reservoir is not far at all from Oneonta. This lake is so wonderful. A great close by hotel is Best Western Inn & Suites At The Commons, and if you came to camp Beaver Valley Campground is a nice place to do that. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Cooperstown       is a wonderful choice, and camping at Cooperstown Famous Tent and Trailer Camp is always a great experience. All through the summer at Hartwick Reservoir temperatures are generally in the 80's. Summer night lows descend down to the 50's. Highs during the winter are regularly in the 20's with temperatures at Hartwick Reservoir dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Treadwell Creek has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by.
