Delaware National Scenic River is a magnificent local destination here at Hankins Pond. A swamp like Bear Swamp close to Hankins Pond has lots of out of the ordinary things to see, and a splendid nearby hotel is Washington Lake Retreat. Camping at Hankins Pond is tremendous fun, Lander's River Trips is a tremendous local campground; Hankins Pond is not the only spot nearby, Lake La Barr is a nearby       lake. This lake is so wonderful. Hankins Pond is a glorious place to camp, Woodstock On The Lake Campgrounds is a glorious place, and don't leave Hankins Pond without first going for a hike along the Schiff Trail. A day on the slopes of Tanglwood is just what you need, and great hiking is available along the Steam Mill Trail. Hankins Pond usually gets a lot of precipitation; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is the                  month with the least moisture. Don't forget to take a magnificent little tour to Grassy Swamp Brook; if you need a place to stay Roebling Inn On the Delaware is a pleasant choice. All through the warm days of summer highs here at Hankins Pond get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Hankins Pond fall into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Delaware River, and the skiing at Ski Big Bear is tremendous. If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Hankins Pond.
