Lakes are splendid; Mahls Pond is a lake that's near Hankins Pond. The high level of precipitation makes Hankins Pond a pretty wet location; August is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Crawford Trail is always a delightful adventure, and a magnificent spot to camp here at Hankins Pond is Camp Tel Yehuda.       All through the warm days of summer at Hankins Pond highs are regularly in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's while Hankins Pond nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's. Be careful coming to Hankins Pond, you might not ever wanna go home again. There is a wonderful hiking trail in close proximity to Hankins Pond called the Steam Mill Trail, and why not stop at a swamp like Bear Swamp                  if you're here at Hankins Pond. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Lackawaxen River; The Lodge at Woodloch is a wonderful place to get some rest. Delaware National Scenic River is a delightful local destination here at Hankins Pond; there are some great whitewater spots on Delaware River. Hankins Pond is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Kittatiny Campgrounds is a glorious local campground, and you're perhaps addicted to lakes, Grassy Swamp Pond is one of those nearby. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Hankins Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Ski Big Bear is one of those things you just should do, and why not a little side spree to Grassy Swamp Brook.
