     Halfmoon Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Cold Brook Campsites is a tremendous local campground, and beautiful scenery and perfect skiing is what you acquire at McCauley Mountain. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Halfmoon Lake. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are mostly in the 20's with temperatures at Halfmoon Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. Halfmoon  
   Lake gets a normal amount of rain; August is when you get the most rain here; February meanwhile is the driest month. A good place for whitewater paddling right next door to Halfmoon Lake is Beaver River; almost certainly you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Huckleberry Lake is just a very short distance away.
Halfmoon Lake truly is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. In case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling
 
               on Independence River. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Snow Ridge is a brilliant place to do that; if you've had enough of Halfmoon Lake, Gourd Lake is close by. There's some flowing water nearby, Burnt Creek is a stream you can visit while here, and if you came to camp Moose River Camp Grounds is a glorious place to do that.
