This lake is so wonderful.       If you need a site to stay Ancram Hotel is a fine choice, and at Halcyon Lake you always meet someone from Hudson. Halcyon Lake is not the only spot nearby, Stissing Pond is a nearby lake, and there's splendid hiking along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the delightful whitewater of Roeliff Jansen Kill River, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Catamount. At Halcyon                  Lake you can make out Conklin Hill, and the Northrop Trail offers hiking at its best. What a location this is for outdoors folks. Stay the night at Lake Taghkanic, and Halcyon Lake is right by the Indian Trail. Halcyon Lake is a good site of common rain; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest of the months is February. A perfect nearby hotel is Jenny's Bar B Q Restaurant.
