On a great day at Grossingers Lake you can take a hike along the Seager West Branch Trail; why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Sullivan County Golf & Country Club. All the water falling down from the sky makes Grossingers Lake a wet location; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Trout Brook is a good spot to stop | |

at; camping at Camp Shane is always a good experience. If you need a site to stay Days Inn Of Liberty is a great choice, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Sunset Lake. For the period
of the summertime months highs here at Grossingers Lake get into the 70's, and the nighttime is quite chillier of course, mostly in the 50's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and night lows at
Grossingers Lake throughout the wintertime commonly dip into the 10's. If the weather is great here at Grossingers Lake, you can go for a hike along the Schiff Trail, and the skiing at Holiday Mountain is nice. In the event that

Kutsher's Country Club
 | I just came back from a weekend at the Kutsher's. I was disappointed at first, due to the lack of modernization. However, by the end of the weekend, I didn't want to leave. I had brought my nephew to show him a true Catskill's experience at a hotel that I had been to in the past. He had a terrific time. We played tennis, went rowing on the lake, ice skating, and played ping pong in the tournament. We met a lot of nice people, and made new friends. He had his portrait done by the famous Joe Hing Lowe. I had the same thing done when I was his age 30 years ago. The food is still delicious. We plan on coming back again soon. There is something special and magical up there, and you want to experience it again!... |

Alder Lake
 | 13 miles away 1 PHOTO I was born in Margaretville on May 16, 1938 and as far back as I can remember, my dad, Bryan Burgin would take me fishing at this lake numerous times during the summers - The last time I was there would have been the summer of 1955 - I have a copy of the book ''Alder Lake'' by Joshua Gerow - that the Fuelane Company gave to dad in 1960 and was passed down to me - looking at the pictures of the lake and the large stone house brought tears to my eyes - thank you for being on the web and returning me if only in my mind to a very beautiful past -
Sincerely, Bob Burgin ... |
