Dutchess Motor Lodge is a splendid place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. If you like swamps, you're in luck, The Great Swamp is right close by, and Dutcher Golf Course is a brilliant golf course close by. This lake is so wonderful. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Thunder Ridge is in the neighborhood of Green Mountain Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for       you then, we recommend Tenmile. Mohawk Mountain is a great local ski area; there's great hiking along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. All through the summertime months at Green Mountain Lake highs are generally in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's while Green Mountain Lake night low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. The yearly rainfall here at Green Mountain Lake is about average;                  the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February. Lakes? Sure, Pawling Reservoir is in the vicinity, and lots of folks from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown come here. A perfect location to camp here at Green Mountain Lake is Clarence Fahnestock State Park, and since you're here, you could take a look at Hiller Brook. So much cool stuff close to Green Mountain Lake, just mind-boggling. Corbin Hill is clearly visible from Green Mountain Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Pine Grove Motel.
