A delightful close by hotel is Washington Lake Retreat. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Ski Big Bear, and a spree to Delaware National Scenic River is recommended. Grassy Swamp Pond is a pretty wet place frequently with a large amount of rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; February is when it's the driest. There's       some flowing water nearby, East Branch Tenmile River is a stream you can go to during your stay, and a perfect swamp close to Grassy Swamp Pond is Bear Swamp. This spot rocks, just look at all the entertaining things to do close to Grassy Swamp Pond. Good hiking is available along the Crawford Trail. There's so much to do here at Grassy Swamp Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Woodstock On The Lake Campgrounds is a good place for that. Whitewater paddling                  is fine on Lackawaxen River, and you can stay the night at Lander's River Trips. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Grassy Swamp Pond, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Grassy Swamp Pond temperatures plunge to the 10's. Go for a hike on the Steam Mill Trail. Lakes are splendid; Lake La Barr is a lake that's near Grassy Swamp Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Tanglwood is a very popular ski area in close proximity, and paddling on Delaware River is so much fun.
