So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains, not sufficient time. Clear Brook is a stunning stream that is worth taking a look at, and do take a look at Duck Pond, it's a wonderful lake. Have a brilliant

hiking adventure along the Silver Lake Mountain Trail. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Grass Pond. You can see Black Cat Mountain from Grass Pond, and Econo Lodge Malone is a tremendous place to get some rest.

Silver Lake Mountain Trail
19 miles away
Please include specific directions to the trail head.  Silver lake mountain trail head is found on Silver lake Road, which intersects with NY Route 3 about 23 miles west of Plattsburgh [near Clayburg]. Go south on Silver Lake Road for about 10 miles, find the marked trailhead on the left side of the road.  This is a short somewhat steep hike with a beautiful view from the top.  Well worth the effort....Silver Lake Mt. is a glorious hike. Its not too difficult for the amateur hikers and has a few trails off to the side that are a bit more difficult and fun for the experienced hikers. Its a great place for a family or business day retreat and provides phenomenal views of the North Countries natural beauty. Enjoy the trail but remember to keep it clean and well maintained. A little effort can go a long way......

Whiteface Mountain

With the greatest vertical drop in the east at 3,166 feet, very few resorts do this better than Whiteface. With long runs over three separate, yet connected areas, you'll spend maximum time on the snow and minimum time on the lifts.
There's also Little Whiteface with almost 2,500 vertical feet. And don't forget Kids Kampus which has separate lifts, lodge, ticketing, rentals, snowsports school and child care. This is an outstanding experience for young beginners in a low-key, safe environment.
A new area opens during 2008/2009 season. Lookout Mountain looms over the horizon covered with pristine snow. For centuries this is how it has been. Until now. This season, Lookout Mountain will be yours for the first time. This means miles of new trail. Literally undiscovered country for you to fall in love with. Whiteface has another face, so Lookout.
