All the water falling down from the sky makes Grass Pond a wet place; the wettest month of the year is mostly August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Adirondack Mountains. Grass Pond is right by the McKenzie Pond Trail. There's so much to do here at Grass Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Deer River Campsites is a tremendous site for that. Summertime

Through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's; overnight lows at Grass Pond through the winter ordinarily descend into the 0's. hiking adventure along the Silver Lake Mountain Trail. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Grass Pond. You can see Black Cat Mountain from Grass Pond, and Econo Lodge Malone is a tremendous place to get some
rest. If you came to camp Legton is a good place to do that, and a delightful lake like Duck Ponds is a good location to have a look at. Here at Grass Pond you'll in all probability meet some people from Malone, and wonderful
skiing awaits you at Mount Pisgah. This lake is so wonderful. Get drenched paddling on Salmon River, and if you need a place to stay Super 8 Malone is a great choice. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack
Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Schwartz Trail is good fun, and you can never get enough of the great skiing at Titus Mountain.

Silver Lake Mountain Trail

Silver lake mountain trail head is found on Silver lake Road, which intersects with NY Route 3 about 23 miles west of Plattsburgh [near Clayburg]. Go south on Silver Lake Road for about 10 miles, find the marked trailhead on the left side of the road. This is a short somewhat steep hike with a beautiful view from the top. Well worth the effort....Silver Lake Mt. is a glorious hike. Its not too difficult for the amateur hikers and has a few trails off to the side that are a bit more difficult and fun for the experienced hikers. Its a great place for a family or business day retreat and provides phenomenal views of the North Countries natural beauty. Enjoy the trail but remember to keep it clean and well maintained.
