West Mountain is a great local ski area, and you're sure to stumble upon some friendly people from Albany-Schenectady-Troy here. If you need a place to stay Courtyard By Marriott Saratoga Springs is a wonderful choice; a good spot for whitewater paddling is Sacandaga River. This lake is so wonderful. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. Through the winter highs are frequently in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Granite Lake. amount of rainfall falls at Granite Lake; November is the month that gets the most rain; February is when it's the driest. A wonderful lake like Loughberry Lake near Granite Lake is a fine place to go to; if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Brookhaven Golf Club is close by.
