     What would winter be without some skiing at Snow Ridge. Lakes? Sure, Halfmoon Lake is around here. Summertime highs at Gourd Lake regularly tend to be in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are commonly in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Gourd Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Very gorgeous scenery and great skiing is what you get at McCauley Mountain, and Gourd Lake is a nice place to visit for  
   more than one day, Cold Brook Campsites is a nice place to camp nearby. Moose River Camp Grounds is a great local campground; there are some great whitewater spots on Beaver River.
An average amount of rainfall falls at Gourd Lake; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area in the vicinity of Gourd Lake has to offer.
 
               Burnt Creek flows through this region, and not far from Gourd Lake you'll locate Stewart Pond which is a picturesque lake.
