Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the neighborhood of Gorton Lake. There's whitewater on Ninemile Creek for all you adrenaline people. A good site to camp here at Gorton Lake is Lake Chalet Motel and Campground, and you obtain a perfect view of Gorton Hill from here. Throughout the long summer days, highs mostly are in the 80's at Gorton Lake. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 50's.       The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and night lows in the 10's for Gorton Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Gone Fitch Inn, and camping at Canaan Campground is always a great experience. If you need a location to stay Rock Inn is a pleasant choice, and you'll meet a lot of people from Utica-Rome here. Gorton Lake gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation; September is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. This                  lake is so wonderful.
