    Gilman Lake is a lake worth visiting. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Gilman Lake has to offer, you can camp at Rainbows End, and get covered with water paddling on Sacandaga River. Gilman Lake is one of the lakes here in the Adirondack Mountains. Gilman Lake ordinarily gets lots of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly November, that's the one that rains the most; February on the other hand is the driest.
Gilman Lake is
 
   a fine site to camp, Ranch Side Park is a fine site, and Cutknife Mountain is wonderful and can be observed from here. Summertime highs at Gilman Lake usually tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Gilman Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things in the vicinity of Gilman Lake. Water's Edge Cabins & Motels  
               is a pleasant place to get some rest; if you've had enough of Gilman Lake, Charley Lake is nearby.
There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Adirondack Mountains. If the weather is splendid here at Gilman Lake, you can go for a hike along the Oregon Trail; lots of folks from Gloversville come here. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and soar down the rapids of Sacandaga River - Middle Branch in a kayak. So many exciting things to do in the Adirondack Mountains, not enough time. A great nearby hotel is Oxbow Lake Motel, and Moffit Beach is pretty nearby if you're in a beach type of mood.
This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Gilman Lake you can take a hike along the Sucker Brook Trail.
