This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend West Canada Creek - South Branch. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Gid Lake, you'll find Wilmurt Lake which is a scenic lake, and don't leave Gid Lake without first going for a hike along the Party Trail. Gid Lake commonly gets a lot of rainfall; most of the rain falls through August, and the       driest month of the year is February. Bethune Vly is an attention-grabbing swamp in the vicinity of Gid Lake; there are fine places to explore along the California Trail. And if that's not enough there's heaps more exciting stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. After a long day outdoors Knights Inn Little Falls is a good site to spend a night or two. There's so much to do here at Gid Lake that you need to camp here for a while, OLD Forge Camping Resort                  is a wonderful spot for that. Just can't get enough of the Adirondack Mountains. Lakes are good; Beaverdam Pond is a lake that's near Gid Lake, and why not head up to McCauley Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. Here at Gid Lake you can make out Baldface Mountain, and you can go for a hike on the Twin Lakes Trail. At Gid Lake through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's, and overnight lows during the winter for Gid Lake tend to be in the 0's. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Gid Lake. There's whitewater on West Canada Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers.
