Gayhead Pond is a lake worth visiting. During the summertime at Gayhead Pond temperatures are mostly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Gayhead Pond fall into the 10's. Gayhead Pond gets much water; May is when you get the most rain here while February is mostly the driest month. Camping is available at Sylvan Lake

The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Thunder Ridge, and why not camp at Clarence Fahnestock State Park while you're here at Gayhead Pond. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Popolopen Creek, and enjoy a round of golf at Branton Woods Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. Gayhead Pond is a location with many visitors
from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown, and Gayhead Pond is not the only site nearby, Penneywater Pond is a nearby lake. This lake is so wonderful.
