Camp site 16 and 17 are located on Gay Pond. Nearby lakes? Sure, Viele Pond is near Gay Pond, and get drenched paddling on Sacandaga River. For the period of the days of summer here at Gay Pond, high temperatures typically reach the 70's. Summer night lows sink down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Gay Pond temperatures drop to the 0's. Any time is a good time at Gay Pond if you fancy the outdoors. Swamps like       Lockwood Swamp are fun to explore, and whitewater paddling is nice on Schroon River. Gay Pond gets a common amount of yearly rainfall; most of the rain falls during August; the driest month is February. Gay Pond is located in the Adirondack Mountains. Man, is there a load of cool things to do in the Adirondack Mountains. The fine people of Glens Falls like to hang out close by, and why not camp at Crazy Creek Campground while you're here at Gay Pond. Dry                  warm beds await you at Lake George/Warrensburg Super 8 Motel, and from Gay Pond you get a good vista of Huckleberry Mountain. So much fun stuff to do here in the Adirondack Mountains, too nice to be true. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Gore Mountain, and Thousand Acres Ranch Resort is a glorious local campground. You could also take a look at Stewart Lake while you're here at Gay Pond; it's close by; let's not forget Podunk Brook which is a stream that you may run into while here. This lake is so wonderful.
