Stewart Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to, and a good view of pretty Huckleberry Mountain is available. There's so much to do here at Gay Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Crazy Creek Campground is a good spot for that; a pleasant nearby hotel is Lazy L Motle. And if that's not enough there's a load more enjoyable stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains.       Really tremendous skiing awaits you at Gore Mountain, and Sacandaga River has a splendid whitewater paddling spot nearby. Now, you may believe that's heaps but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. Some of the water nearby flows, like Podunk Brook; after a long day outdoors Heartwater Motel & Cabins is a nice spot to spend a night or two. Gay Pond gets a normal amount of annual precipitation; the month of August is the wettest                  with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is February. Just can't get enough of Gay Pond. Why not pop by a swamp like Lockwood Swamp if you're here at Gay Pond, and if you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Schroon River. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Gay Pond there are plenty of folks from Glens Falls. Summer at Gay Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are regularly in the 20's, and overnight lows through the winter for Gay Pond tend to be in the 0's. Skiing at West Mountain is one of those things you just must do, and if you came to camp Mt Kenyon Camp Ground is a perfect place to do that.
