Why not camp at Stysh's Brown Barn Campgrounds since you're here at Forestport Reservoir, and a perfect place to camp here at Forestport Reservoir is Kayuta Lake Campground. That right there is loads of cool things already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all. Alder Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth stopping at, and if you're a       golfer then a splendid close by course is Alder Creek Golf Course & Country Inn. Forestport Reservoir is located in the Adirondack Mountains. Forestport Reservoir sees pretty high levels of precipitation; during the month of September you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February. High temperatures at Forestport Reservoir during the days of summer are in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the                  wintertime are in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Forestport Reservoir. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Forestport Reservoir; Stone Dam Trail is a good local trail, and get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Black River. Red Roof Inn Utica is a tremendous site to get some rest, and pretty scenery and great skiing is what you get at Woods Valley. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Adirondack Mountains. Alder Pond is a nearby lake that you could visit; if you need a site to stay Super 8 Motel - Utica is a wonderful choice. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Forty Mountain Trail, and the fine folks of Utica-Rome like to hang out nearby.
