Follensby Pond is a good location of typical rain; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is when it's the driest. If you came to camp Camp Cherokee is a good site to do that; if you like skiing, you're in luck;
Mount Pisgah is rather near. That right there is lots of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all. While you're here at Follensby Pond you must have a look at Agassiz Bay, and whitewater paddling is
not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Round Lake Outlet. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Adirondack Mountains. Line Pond is a great lake near Follensby Pond.

Northville Lake Placid Trail
 | 16 miles away Not sure where Plumley's Point is but I hiked the Northville Lake Placid trail about 4 or 5 miles north from Long Lake village and it was fairly well maintained (just a little overgrowth). At one point the trail runs into a bog/pond and the wooden planks are flooded over. You must make a detour to the left and bushwack to some rocks to cross (hiked June 09)...8/14/09 I'm wondering if anyone knows the trail conditions for the Northville Lake Palcid trail from Long Lake village to near Plumley's Point-... |
