Beautiful Fly Pond has much to offer visitors. If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the Adirondack Mountains. Take a little journey to Andrew Brook since you're here at Fly Pond, and Sand Pond is a nearby lake that you could check out. During the warm months highs here at Fly Pond get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's

| | for Fly Pond. A journey to Jones Beach near Fly Pond is always a great idea, and the snow is pleasant at Gore Mountain. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Fly Pond; most of the rain falls during August, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Pond Mountain is a peak you can observe from Fly Pond. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Fly Pond. Going for a hike on the Van Hoevenberg Trail is always a perfect adventure; if you get bored of Fly Pond you could
also explore close by Wolf Pond. This place, the Adirondack Mountains, has so much outdoors fun stuff. The Elk Lake Marcy Trail is a great hiking trail right next door to Fly Pond, and you can stay the night at Yogi Bear's Jellystone
Park at Paradise Pines. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Boreas River - Upper; nearby you come across the Dividing Ridge Trail which is a perfect hiking trail.
Be careful coming to Fly Pond, you might not ever want to return home again. Fly Pond is located in the Adirondack Mountains. Fly Pond is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Shearer's Riverside Campsite is a brilliant place to camp nearby, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Whiteface Mountain is reasonably near.

Oxshoe Pond
 | 18 miles away What a terrific place to spend the night or even a few days. I went there on my first hike ever, and I am going back this week. It is about a 3-4 hour hike into the trail, but man is it worth it. If you are lucky enough to be the only group there, you will find a lean-2 and fire pit all to yourself. Also, there is a very secluded pond(oxshoe pond) in the same valley, that is just spectacular. A row boat is on hand to use for free for anyone at the site. No cell service with Verizon there, but then again, who needs that? lol again though, an absolutely amazing place to spend a few nights.... |
