This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Dividing Ridge Trail, and Whispering Pines Campground is a delightful campground here. For the period of the months of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at First Pond. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. All through the winter highs are commonly in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at First Pond. Good hiking is available       along the Van Hoevenberg Trail, and if you need a spot to stay Courtyard Lake Placid is a wonderful choice. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in the neighborhood of First Pond will keep you coming back time and again. Going for a hike on the Elk Lake Marcy Trail is always a pleasant adventure; Moose Mountain is a peak you can catch a glimpse of from First Pond. You definitely must have a thing about the Adirondack Mountains. After a long day outdoors                  Adirondack Loj is a delightful site to spend a night or two, and get your heart pumping on the perfect whitewater of Boreas River - Upper. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. Man, is there plenty of enjoyable stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Stay the night at Shearer's Riverside Campsite; some nearby water includes LeClaire Brook. Lakes are magnificent; Boreas Ponds is a lake that's next to First Pond, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Whiteface Mountain since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Gore Mountain, and you can run the rapids of John's Brook.
