The beauty of First Pond is reason enough to stop by. This lake is located in the wonderful Adirondack Mountains. If you need a spot to stay Courtyard Lake Placid is a fine choice, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try LeClaire Brook. The amount of precipitation that falls at First Pond is close to the national average; all through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture.

At First Pond during the summertime months highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Lake Placid is a glorious place to get some rest, and why not camp at Whispering Pines Campground if you're here at First Pond. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Whiteface Mountain
while you're here. Shearer's Riverside Campsite is a nice local campground, and if you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on John's Brook.
This site, the Adirondack Mountains, has so much
outdoors amusing things. The Elk Lake Marcy Trail offers hiking at its best; Moose Mountain is a peak you can catch a sight of from First Pond.
