Holiday Mountain is a very popular ski area close at hand, and Golden Swan Motel is a magnificent place to get some rest. Chestnut Ridge Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and on a splendid day you can take a hike along the Lost Cabin Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A quick visit to Hurd Brook right next door to Filippini Pond is a magnificent idea; there is a glorious       hiking trail close by called the Peenpack Trail.
