The Catskill Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Fox Creek, and Hicks Pond is a nearby lake that you could explore. If you fancy the outdoors, you'll like Fawn Lake. & Suites SCHOHARIE is a glorious place to spend a night or two. All year is a glorious time in the Catskill Mountains if you fancy the outdoors. Very striking scenery and delightful skiing is what you get at Hunter Mountain, and the
Spruceton Trail is a good hiking trail close by. For the duration of the days of summer at Fawn Lake temperatures are frequently in the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs throughout the winter
are generally in the 20's; overnight lows during the wintertime for Fawn Lake tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Fawn Lake, you could also pop by stunning White Birch Pond, and Thompson's Lake State Park is a wonderful campground nearby.

 | This is not your typical campground where you are on top of all your neighbors. There's plenty of space between camps and the trees provide seclusion. The beach and lake are beautiful, excellent for swimming, fishing and boating. I definitely recommend this campground.... |

I personally recommend this place.... ...o cool off or try your luck at trout fishing. The creek bed holds many fossils for you to find and collect. Our pond is the home of many bass and blue gills and some goldfish and coi. Many, many frogs and salamanders and pollywogs also reside there and will delight the youngsters. All sites have picnic tables and fireplaces. Firewood and ice is available for you to purchase. We are located in the beautiful Schoharie Valley and nestled between the Catskill, Helderberg and Adirondack Mountains. Just 3 miles south of the small town of Middleburgh and about 10 miles from the college town of Cobleskill. Albany and Schenectady are about 30-45 minutes away and Saratoga Springs, Cooperstown is nearby. Howe Caverns, Secret Caverns and Iroquois Indian Museum is 15 minutes away. If you are looking for a place to relax and leave the hustle and bustle behind, we are the place for you. We are a quiet, clean and peaceful campground and we hope to see you one of these days.

Cobleskill Reservoir
 | 19 miles away I have been to this reservoir many times and highly recommend it to anyone. It's got good fishing and its a very big area to just go out and relax while trying to catch some dinner. I cant say I've caught many big ones but many many sunfish and smallmouth. I know there are trout in the upper pond and walleye in the pond furthest to the left. Also large and smallmouth bass are in all three. Great place to go.... |
