If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mad River, and Faulkner Ponds is a fine spot to camp, Lone Pine Camp Grounds is a fine spot. After a long day outdoors Oneida Super 8 Motel is a glorious site to spend a night or two, and some of the water close by flows, like Fields Brook. Fish Creek - East Branch is a good whitewater spot right next door to Faulkner Ponds, and       if you've had enough of Faulkner Ponds, Starkweather Pond is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. All our national parks are perfect sites to check out, and Fort Stanwix National Monument is no exception, and Oneida Pines Campground is a great campground here. Summertime at Faulkner Ponds comes with high temperatures in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's; nighttime lows in the 0's for Faulkner Ponds.
