The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful. From a rainfall point of view Elk Lake is a quite common place; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Just can't get enough of Elk Lake. The Dividing Ridge Trail is a fine hiking trail right next door to Elk Lake, and camping is available at Shearer's Riverside Campsite. But wait, there's more enjoyable things to       do in the Adirondack Mountains. While you're here at Elk Lake you can take a hike along the Dix Trail; if you want to hit the beach, Jones Beach is close at hand. If the weather is splendid here at Elk Lake, you can go for a hike along the Elk Lake Marcy Trail; whitewater paddling is wonderful on The Branch. For the period of the days of summer highs here at Elk Lake reach the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's.                  Throughout the wintertime highs are usually in the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Elk Lake temperatures dip to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Courtyard Lake Placid is a splendid spot to spend a night or two; Whiteface Mountain has good slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Paradise Pines Camping Resort is a glorious spot to camp, and Duck Hole is very near and is a wonderful location to take a look at. So many amusing things to do at Elk Lake, so little time. Get dripping wet paddling on John's Brook, and Gore Mountain is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood. A scenic lake like Clear Pond in the neighborhood of Elk Lake is a good location to stop by, and dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Lake Placid. Having a brilliant time in the Adirondack Mountains is uncomplicated.
