Elk Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. And if that's not enough there's lots more exciting stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Hiking along the Elk Lake Marcy Trail is tremendous fun, and Elk Lake is not the only location close by, Clear Pond is a close by lake. Now, you may believe that's loads but there's even more fun things to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. You could also pop by Upper Ausable Lake if you're here at Elk Lake; it's close by, and a spree to close by Duck Hole is very relaxing. Elk Lake is one of the lakes here in the Adirondack Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Dix Trail; if you need a location to stay Econo Lodge Lake Placid is a brilliant choice. So many entertaining things to do at Elk Lake, so little time. Have a brilliant hiking
adventure along the Dividing Ridge Trail, and there are some delightful whitewater spots on The Branch. The slopes of Gore Mountain are so inviting nobody can resist; camping at Shearer's Riverside Campsite is always a pleasant experience.
Throughout the days of summer at Elk Lake highs are regularly in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's
for Elk Lake. Spend the day on the beach at Jones Beach while you're here at Elk Lake, and it's a pleasant idea to stop by Big Sally Brook. A common amount of rain falls here at Elk Lake; most of the rain falls during August while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
