If you are in Essex county it's always a good idea to stop by Elk Lake. Elk Lake is located in the Adirondack Mountains. A journey to Jones Beach near Elk Lake is always a nice idea, and paddling on John's Brook is so much fun. The annual rainfall here at Elk Lake is about average; all through the month of August you get the most rain around here while February is regularly the driest month.
After a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Lake Placid is a good spot

| | to spend a night or two, and Duck Hole is relatively close. So much fun stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains, not enough time. Near Elk Lake you locate the Dix Trail which is a delightful hiking trail, and it's a magnificent idea to go to Big Sally Brook. This location, the Adirondack Mountains, has so much outdoors fun things. There are perfect sites to discover along the Dividing Ridge Trail; The Branch has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot nearby.

This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Clear Pond is in the neighborhood of Elk Lake; if you came for an overnight stay Shearer's Riverside Campsite is a glorious site to camp. And that's not all you can do here at Elk Lake.
A fine nearby hotel is Courtyard Lake Placid, and Paradise Pines Camping Resort is a good campground here. All through the days of summer at Elk Lake temperatures are regularly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the
50's. Throughout the winter the highs are usually in the 20's while Elk Lake overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's.
This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Elk Lake Marcy Trail is always a
great adventure, and skiing at Whiteface Mountain is one of those things you just should do. You can never get enough of the pleasant skiing at Gore Mountain.
