There is a great hiking trail in the neighborhood of Echo Lake called the Schiff Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Echo Lake, you could also explore close by Burnt Hope Lake, and camping is available at Kittatinny Campgrounds. For the period of the warm days of summer here at Echo Lake, high temperatures generally reach the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter       brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Echo Lake dip into the 10's. A good close by hotel is Mighty M Motel, and hey, Gotta ski right? Holiday Mountain is a tremendous spot to do that. If the weather is magnificent here at Echo Lake, you can go for a hike along the Peenpack Trail; camping at American Family Campground is always a pleasant experience. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors enjoyable                  things the area next to Echo Lake has to offer. The Lost Cabin Trail is a tremendous hiking trail close to Echo Lake, and a magnificent location for whitewater paddling is Mongaup River. The high level of precipitation makes Echo Lake a relatively wet place; the wettest month of the year is generally May, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is February.
