A day at New Sebago Beach in the vicinity of Echo Lake is time well spent, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Popolopen Creek. There's some flowing water close by, Arden Brook is a stream you can visit while you're here; on a good day you can visit Surebridge Swamp, a swamp in close proximity to Echo Lake.       After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Suffern, Ny is a nice place to spend a night or two; an afternoon playing golf at The Golf Club at Mansion Ridge is always a joy. Going for a hike on the Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail is always a magnificent adventure; while you're here here do have a look at nearby Old Sebago Beach. What would winter be without some skiing at Mt. Peter. A good deal of rainfall falls at Echo Lake; most of the rain falls through May, and                  February meanwhile is the driest month. If you get bored of Echo Lake, you could also stop at close by Island Pond. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Echo Lake has to offer, you can camp at Robert Moses. This lake is so wonderful. You get a splendid sight of Echo Mountain from Echo Lake, and there are some wonderful whitewater spots on Ramapo River. Echo Lake is not the only place nearby, Lake Cohasset is a nearby lake, and you can go for a hike on the Breakneck Ridge Trail. If you adore the outdoors, you'll like Echo Lake. The slopes of Sterling Forest are so inviting nobody can resist. There's so much to do here at Echo Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Camp wabenaki is a magnificent place for that. High temperatures at Echo Lake during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are commonly in the 30's with temperatures at Echo Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful.
