Why not camp at Black Bear Campground while you're here at Echo Lake, and the snow is magnificent at Hidden Valley. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Cannonball Trail. For the period of the days of summer highs here at Echo Lake reach the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Echo Lake       dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Days Inn is a great place to get some rest, and you can go for a hike on the Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail. There are splendid locations to look at along the Comfort Trail; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Mt. Peter. A good deal of rainfall falls at Echo Lake; through May this area sees the most rain while February is commonly the driest month. Masonic Creek is a stream that you                  may bump into while you're here, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Neversink River. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Dry warm beds await you at Global Budget Inns of America, and get soaked paddling on Beer Kill River - West Branch. This lake is so wonderful.
