Why not stop by Echo Lake if you're passing through these parts. Stysh's Brown Barn Campgrounds is a wonderful local campground, and you can have a fine hiking adventure along the Stone Dam Trail. The nice people of Utica-Rome like to hang out nearby, and paddling on Black River is so much fun. The skiing at Snow Ridge is perfect; get dripping wet paddling on Cincinnati Creek.
A day on the slopes of Woods Valley is just what you need; do go to Kayuta Lake,

it's a pretty lake. Summertime highs at Echo Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's while nighttime lows are frequently in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 20's while Echo Lake overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a good close by course is Woodgate Pines Golf Club, and dry warm beds await you at Wingate By Wyndham Rome.
This lake is so wonderful. If

you need a spot to stay Paul Revere Lodge is a fine choice, and going for a hike along the Forty Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. Echo Lake gets a common amount of precipitation; November is the month that gets the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. And that's not all you can do here at Echo Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Pixley Falls State Park is a glorious spot to camp, and Fort Stanwix National Monument is a good spot close by.

I love hiking back to this pond! It is absolutely beautiful! The trail was a little muddy from atv's, but the trek is worth it. the loons were incredible to watch, and once i saw the arora borealis there too!...

Forty Mountain Trail
16 miles away
Since 2001, it has become a bushwhack and can be close to impossible in the spring and summer to find the blazes that indicate the trail. Wet seasons can make the slopes tretcherous, and the trail dissapears at the base of the mountain. One must plot a compass course or use a GPS. The summit offers limited views of the Black River area of the southwestern Adirondacks. Watch for black bears, as they are numerous in this region....

McCauley Mountain
